Do any of you have an AG Minis room? If u do, which one? What's it like? Do you (or your duaghter) enjoy it as much as you/her thought u would? What r your likes and dislikes about it? I am saving up 4 either the Stable or the Blue Room. (Don't know if I'll get there. [img]tongue.gif[/img] ) Do the little lights light it up good?

I have the Stable, Petite Boutique, NY Loft, Groovy Room and Purple Room (still in hiding). Everything in them is so realistic, detailed and well-made. I like that many things are reversible for a different look-rugs, pictures, chair cushions.

Most are well-lit. The Loft seems dark to me but the chandelier or ceiling fan help. The lights are actually the worst part to me. The prongs are two tiny wires that you have to get just right into the outlet. One of my DD's kept fooling with the ceiling fan until she finally broke off one of the little prongs so it doesn't work any more. [img]frown.gif[/img]

Another issue is that everything is so tiny, I feel like a clumsy giant! I'll get one thing just right and knock something else over. Maybe it's just me, though.

I love the AG Minis! Check the link to Pics of my AG Minis in my signature. My rooms are inhabited by the Little Plastic Bears. Someday the Little Plastic Bears will have their own website.

I've done heaps of combinations with the pieces I have. I have all the room sets, the platform sets, add-ons & extra pieces except for just one item - the Lava Lamp. If I had the Lava Lamp, I'd have a complete AG Minis collection. But alas, the Lava Lamp usually goes for well over 100 on ebay so I've given up and haven't even looked for it on ebay for months.

There's lots of ways to change the rooms if you have some extra pieces. I've seen various components go for a decent price on ebay. Get some extra walls in other colors if you can.

Yes the lights work. Well, ebay sellers should say if their lights work or not. I had one lamp burn out on me so far and it was brand new. That was back in 2000. I called for a replacement lamp and American Girl told me they were getting lots of calls for replacement lights because girls were using them as nightlights. The directions with the sets say specifically say DO NOT use the sets as nightlights. I'm thinking that is because the lights will burn out a lot quicker and also they might heat up too much.

American Girl told me the lights were rated at 10,000 hours if not used continuously. When the AG minis went on sale, I bought a couple extra sets that had lights just so I would have my replacements years from now. Hopefully they keep that long anyway.

I can't say I have favorites because I mix and rearrange them all. But I'd have to say one of my favorite combos is The Green Cafe. I made it with the boutique green walls, the black & white check floor and two black patio tables & chairs. I set Lil's Diner cash register by Lil's Diner door on one wall. Then I arrange all the plants from all the sets around the cafe so it's very green. Oh, and I use extra loft windows on the walls to make the cafe seem really ritzy. I'll have to take photos of it sometime.

My friend has the AG minis and the rooms I don't know I just didn't care for them that much even though they were very nice and sylish but that's just my opinion

My girls (8 & 12) have the Stable, Purple Room and Pergola, they love these. FP doll house people and dolls from McDonalds fit perfect.
Several lights in our purple room and the fan have broken prongs so no longer work, mostly from to much re-decorating. The lights are so adorable, have a very nice bright light. I would suggest not plugging in and unplugging too much, that is what seems to break the prongs, when you see how teeny you will understand. AG has replacement lamps for $20 ea. but no replacement parts for the lamps.
The Stable is adorable, the detail is amazing, love the barn lights; I was surprised at how many different ways you can rearrange a barn.
I purchased these when they went 1/2 price, also got the drawer which has been very handy for storing items, so we have the drawer, two rooms and pergola on top, makes a very nice display, we don't have the dust covers (is that what it's called) but have not missed it, I have to say in over a year the dust has not had time to accumulate. My girls were 7 & 10 when they got them for Christmas and still play and re-arrange, yep, I do too.

I am definatly saving for one of these! JuliaAM, your pics were so cool! I LOVED them!!! I just love the Blue Room and Purple Room, though my life seems to revolve around horses. The stable just dosn't seem as versital and it dosn't have any lamps, lol. [img]smile.gif[/img] I've got to have the lamps!! [img]eek.gif[/img] [img]tongue.gif[/img]

I just found most of the purple room, groovy room, the tiki room, the beach one, the power platform, drawer and illuma room all for the price of $35.00. My 11 year old daughter loves it! What a steal! I almost fell over when I saw the price. Kim
